When I was working on the Perfectly Happy challenge, I didn't notice any of my Life Plants being thirsty initially. I'm thinking this was a bug that was fixed. Can this be confirmed by anyone?

Definitely confirmed. I planted more Life Plants than I care to remember in the Nectar Challenge and non of them were wilting after initial planting.

Maybe not after initial planting, but I had some recently wilting as full mature plants with fruit ready to harvest.

I mainly had the sprinkler on full time, which is the best plan unless you want to raise your handiness and upgrade it to auto-water.

These particular plants were outside the range of the sprinkler and I didn't realize it until they started wilting.

It could be an error in my game, but plants that grow on a lot never seems to die when my sims have moved to another lot. They can always go back there to harvest new fruit every few days for two generations now. Although the water sprinklers are improved to auto water so my sims don't have to do themself, eventually a plant has to die, right? Well, this one doesn't.
It isn't only counting for one type of plant because I've built a farm on that lot which included all the plants ingame (with the from World Adventures included).
In fact that this doesn't appear only in my game, it could be an improvement to the Gardening Guide.

I've seen that same thing, Leto.  I think that plants only go through their normal life cycle if they are on your current lot.  Wild plants around town never die, either.

Now we know this, this will be extremely handy when building or designing your house. Just imagine how much space you can spare by planting your vegetables on the other side of the street. Not only that, they also will grow forever in perfect quality! Lifefruit for everyone!

The problem with this is that you can't plant anything except on your home lot.  You won't be able to just go to the other side of the street and plant something.  You'd have to live there and then move away.

Yes, I meant that, but forgot to mention it. Haha, when servo's arrive in Ambitions, they can probably be programed to harvest all that stuff so your own sims don't have to do it anymore. Then you really can start a working farm. I wish we could cross breed some species to make new subspecies. :D

Talking about farms, remember that last year some German guys decided to make a false announcement of the first upcoming expansion pack? They said that there will be a farm expansion in about a few months from that moment. I fell for it! :( To bad it didn't come true, but still I am hoping for some pet expansion where you could actually build farms or zoos.

I'm not sure if this question belongs here or under "moving", so I will leave it up to the mods and administrators to decide. My question is if I decide to move to a different lot am I able to take my money trees with me? I have over a hundred trees and I would not want to leave them behind. I have a lot more money seeds to plant, but I am going to wait until I move in case I can't take my trees with me.

Even if you can't (because I highly doubt that you actually can move plants) you can always go back to your old lot to pluck the trees. The thing is that plants even grow on lots your sims have moved from.
Just put some sprinklers there, upgraded to automatic water. Just to be sure. For the rest you don't have to care for them anymore.

You are not able to take the money trees with you.  On the flip side, you can go to that lot anytime you wish and harvest the trees without the bother of having to weed them, fertilize them and you do NOT need to leave sprinklers there either.  I have extensively tested this theory many times in the past as I absolutely love the gardening aspect of this game and always have a gardener in my families that I play.

The only way you could take them is if you decided to move the whole lot and house and that is probably want you do not want to do.  Too bad you can't put them in family inventory.
