Ugh. I just started my game around 15 minutes ago, and now the skin won't show up on anyone, not even in CAS. The eyes still work fine, but not the skin.
Any ideas?

Have you tried removing them, clearing caches, adding them? It might be worth trying again?

I tried installing Aikea Guinea's default replacement eyes and default replacement skintone, since the ones that come with the game don't look very realistic, and the original eyes are starting to creep me out.

May I ask...  How do the eyes in the game not look realistic?  And, honestly, I can't see a difference in the eyes in the pictures where you say one is normal eyes and the other is modified eyes.  Just something I'm curious about.

To me, the eyes look kind of dead or soulless. I'm not sure why.

It's the iris.  If you look at the iris in the replacement eye in the little girl it has graduations of colour and flecks of darkness - just like a real eye - whereas the EA iris in the boy is a flat blue (in comparison).  It is not so obvious in the photos but very obvious in CAS.  They give the sims a different look so that once you get used to your sim with replacement eyes, they are just not the same without them.

It's definitely the iris. For some reason I'm with Pam on this one. I don't like custom eyes...Just too realistic.

Have you managed to get this working, Simstar3?

No, I still can't get the skins to show up, although the eyes still work fine. Reinstalling them didn't work either.

I agree with you and Wednesday on this one! Also, the skin is glowing, in the realistic looking girl photo, and her nose is straighter. I don't like that either. I only stick to EA made skin tones. Even in TS2, I only do the ones, where they still look like normal default Skintones, but in different colors like purple or green, or rainbow.

I use default eye replacements, Simstar, but I suspect your problem is with the Mac install path. I'd ask around the Mac users personally, or ask Aikea.

Post at the blog, where you presumably downloaded the skin. Did you not download it at Club Crimsyn? What version of the skin are you using (v1 or v2)? I assumed you were using v2.

Yes, post on the blog post at Club Crimsyn. I don't use Aikea's mods, but from what I know of them Club Crimsyn folks they're pretty helpful.

I use a Mac and default replacements - not Aikea's though.  The install path is the same as on the PC.
