Weird sounds (Chimes) in the game?

I was reading this because I too have been hearing weird chiming music while playing the game.  At first I thought it was an event or something, like when you accomplish a sim's goals, but it sounds different.  While reading everyone's replies, it hit me.

Does anyone else have one of those wall clocks in their homes?  The game I'm playing now is the first one I've had that I've used one of the wall clocks for.  It's also the first time I've noticed chiming music.  I haven't checked it out in game, but the chiming music would totally make sense if it came from the wall clock.

I don't have any clocks in my home but I've been hearing the weird chimes lately too. There was also a different type of chime that played earlier and I recorded some of it.

I played for 2+ (real) hours tonight in the house with the wall clock and didn't hear any chiming.  There goes my theory.

It's a good idea to record it!  I'll try to remember that when I hear funny sounds next time!

While playing my current game, I kept hearing the chiming, most of the time it was due to the ice cream truck, but sometimes it seemed like it was due to the gnomes moving? I'm not entirely sure if that's true or not. But it was like I'd hear the chimes, and then see them move around the lot.

That's a great idea = record some of the game play. Why didn't I think of that. I think I might have to try that sometime.

I don't think it has to do with gnomes since I have a file with gnomes and I've never heard the sounds but on a file without gnomes I hear the sound all the time.

I hear chimes, but it's because I've got the wind chimes from the store and they are on the back porch of my Sim's house.
