Uninstalled but sims folders still there

I just uninstalled sims 3 and its expansions. It did ask me if I want to remove custom content, and i said yes. But I just looked in my documents and the folder for EA is still there, with all the data (as far as I can tell). The last time I tried this, when I had reinstalled everything, the store content was still there (didn't need to be downloaded again) and so I am afraid that will happen again, and that somehow I have not uninstalled properly. Are the folders supposed to disappear upon uninstalling?

I am guessing they are your user files.  I can imagine that they would get left behind as a lot of games will do this.

thank you figwit. That link is how to manually uninstall, which I have tried in the past with the exact same result I described in my first post. I uninstalled the normal way this time to save myself some bother.

Should I delete the folders? Is there a way to make sure all the store and custom content is removed properly before I start reinstalling?

I have just looked at the instructions, and, unless I am missing something, you are correct.  They give instructions for deleting the user files from a Mac but, for the PC, they just give instructions for backing up your files.

Basically, the EA files in your Documents folder can be thrown in the bin if you do not want to keep any of your saved games.

Thank you for that link Figwit. After following those instructions, I am now reasonably sure I've completely uninstalled everything, so I'll try reinstalling again tomorrow.
