Questions on moving
« on: March 25, 2012, 11:54:50 AM »
I have searched a LOT of threads and so far haven't found the info I needed.

So, when I move to a new home, what happens to my old home?  If I have a garden, I think I can't take any plants/trees with me, right?

I know that I can use pack and take all of my stuff, cabinets and everything, but what if I want only certain items, new fridge, stove, exercize machines and other, can I put then in the  inventory and then sell house as being furnished?  Would  that change it from being furnished, which sells for a higher price?

I found another house that I would like that just came on the market, so I would like to buy it, but not sure about what is included if I buy furnished (such as level of quality in stove, sim is a master chef).

If you select packed furniture, Everything will be in the family inventory. In the new house you can place the items you want and sell the rest. The old house will still be furnished with the same stuff. The garden you cannot take with you, but your sim can go back to the house and harvest it. The plants will never die, so he can go harvest them as often as you like.

Sure, can put the items you want to keep in your inventory and family inventory and sell the rest with the house. Or if you pack your furniture it will all be put in your family inventory. Place the items you want to keep after moving then click the Sell All button to sell the rest of it.
Either way the amount you end up with would probably be about the same.

You wont be able to take the plants with you but they will stay at the old lot. They'll be like plants on other lots around town. You can go back and harvest them when you want but don't have to take care of them.

The new house will be furnished however the creator of the house furnished it.  That's how the game determines the cost of the house when you buy it furnished.

As far as plants go,why not just take one of each plant with you and plant them at the new house.
