curious -- NPC downs in pool
« on: March 21, 2012, 11:09:45 PM »
My sim was at the pool, swimming and flirting.  She is starting to talk to someone and there is this horrible sound coming from a sim just a bit away from her, with his back to hers.  I hear some others making sounds and turn her round.
There is the Grim Reaper and he is standing in front of something that is gray, then turns into a blue person.  Everyone is out of the pool, standing as if frozen, a couple are crying and making sounds of fear.

Obviously, a sim has drowned, and his ghost is asking to not be taken, but he is.  What has me confused, is that a tombstone appeared where he was at.
My sim needed to go (energy was getting low). So I didn't stick around to see what happened next.

My curiousity is, with the sims tombstone there, will he or she come back to haunt the pool?  It would be weird to see a ghost there, floating over the water, scaring everyone away.   :o   ;D

I guess it is a good thing that she had planted some seeds that ended up being a good haul, two death plants, four life plants, a flame fruit and three money trees.  Riverview, and the only places I looked for seeds were at the gravyard and at the opposite end of the island.

It's potential the sim will haunt the pool at midnight. Public deaths from townies/NPCs are rare for me.

I tend to have loud opinions. So sorry. I got tons of issues, lol. I can also be found on Yahoo! Answers.

In theory, the tombstone should fade away if the Sim who died was not under your control.  Shortly after it's gone, it will show up when you "Manage the Dead" at the mausoleum.

I had a butler die while fixing a hot tub. I was  away from the lot and didn't see it. Later in the newspaper it said, as they do when someone gets electrocuted, he had been hit by lightening.

I had a NPC repairman get electrocuted fixing my sim's hot tub. There was water everywhere and he was standing in it. My sim starts mourning for someone she doesn't know well and the tombstone didn't stay.

If an NPC or townie has ever died on my lot the tombstone has stayed on the lot and been haunted by said Sim until I moved the tombstones elsewhere. Also on many occasions if my Sim sees anyone die off the lot the tombstone will end up in their inventory I assumed it happened to everyone.

There was a public death in one of my games. Poor Boyd Wainwright died of old age right outside the movie theater. The simmies were upset, of course.  I think I have a screen cap of it. I need to check.
