Prepare a Meal Using 'X' (Fish)

Is there a trick to getting your Sim to use a certain kind of fish when cooking a meal. I just caught some Piranha and he wants to make a meal out of it.

I just tried making Dim Sum, but he didn't use the Piranha.

The game will just randomly pull from available fish — be it in your fridge or inventory. So, the only way to guarantee your Sim uses Piranha is to make sure that's the only kind of fish available. Kind of frustrating, I know.

As Metro said, the only way to do this is to make sure X fish is the only one available.  If your household has more than one sim, you can move the other fish to another sim's inventory and then your target sim will use the X fish.

I just empty all fish from my inventory except for the target fish and then click for my Sim to prepare whatever dish it is you want made and they use the target fish.  Also, if you have the target fish as the first fish in the fridge, they will use it.
