painting--how do I transport an easel

I really have more than one question; but the main one is, when my sim go to paint a portrait, how does she transport the easel? 
My artist is at level 8 and has the opportunity to paint the portraits of a family she meet.  I have searched here and elsewhere and I can't find anything that tells me how she takes an easel with her to the families home.  Or do they have to come to my sims home?

Second question, she has been painting still life; is there a way to use the camera to take a picture somewhere, such as the pier,  and paint it later at the sims home?  Right now all I have is where she is limited to taking a picture of what is right in front of her, sorta.  There is some movement, but very limited.

To take portraits of someone not living in your house you need to invite them over to paint their picture.

You can use your Sims cell phone photo option anywhere  to take a picture.  You can only take one photo, then paint it, you can take 10 photos at a time and expect the Sim to paint all 10.  I think your Sim can also "Remember scene" and then paint it, but I'm not 100% on that.
