Missing required venue
« on: March 10, 2012, 08:22:19 AM »
OK, so I am playing in AP, the Pets town and I got a request for someone to play in my town in a gig. But I got this message that the venue is missing! I put Hoi Polli Event Center and Micks Master Karaoke in my town. Is these the correct venue for holding gigs?

Please help! Thanks!

There are several types of places for gigs.   Depending on the level of the singer/acrobat/magician, they may only be able to perform at a coffeehouse or a big park.  If I remember correctly, it's 5 different spots that need to be available for gigs depending on career level.

So it depends on my Sim career level? My Sim currently has no singing skills. Is that why there is a missing required venue message poping out?

It only depends on your career level if you're trying to perform at a certain place.  You can only audition for a venue that your career level qualifies for.

What are you doing when you get this message?

I haven't played much is sick with flu, but I think you must place all the showtime community lots. I think there is five of them. My acrobat sim did a gig at the park, he was at level 2.

You have to place/create one of each of the new Venue Lots to be able to have a working Showtime Career. You need a Big Park with a Stage (Found in Buydebug), a Coffeehouse, a Private Venue, a Live Venue and a Big Venue.

I placed the small park in the bin to AP and it says big park lol. Anyways, I think she's trying to host a sim who wants to perform in a venue she doesn't have in AP.  It says in the request in what kind of venue they want to perform. Hoi Polloi is a big venue, Mick's karaoke is a live venue. Try placing Port-a-party Warehouse (private venue), Coffee Shop and Performance Park to AP as well and you should be ok to do any kind of requests.

So, you are telling me that 1 or 2 venues are not enough? Besides that, I must reach at least level 2 of a Showtime Career?

Yes, there are five different types of venues.  Big Park, Coffee House, Live Venue, Private Venue, and Large Venue.  In Starlight Shores, there are a couple each of the 3 largest, but to have a working Showtime career in another town, you must place one of each type of venue (so that means 5).  You only need 4 lots though, really:  If you remove Llama Memorial Stadium, you can place the stadium from Starlight Shores which acts as a Large Venue and a stadium for the sports career.

Plus, you cannot play at the Big Park (which is the lowest ranked venue) until level 2.  Getting to level two is rather easy though...just engage in the job metrics for whatever career you picked.  Performing for tips works best for Magicians, working out (at home, gyms are still bugged) and performing for tips for Acrobats, and doing Sing-A-Grams and performing for tips for Singers.  You can hit level 2 in about a day or two.

Also keep in mind that you need two sims in the household to do SimPort.

OK, thanks for the information. But right now, I have only one Sim in my household as I am trying to concentrate on creating a perfect Sim where all his skills are maximized. But this is something I did not know with regards to having 2 Sims in my household to do SimPort!

You only need Two Sims if you are Sending a Sim through SimPort, you can have just One Sim if you are receiving a Sim through SimPort.  :)
