Overwatch and Showtime - Helpful Hint
« on: March 08, 2012, 10:26:56 AM »
If you are using Twallan's Overwatch (great mod, I highly recommend it!) and are planning to send your sims on tour via SimPort you should set 'Recover Missing Sims' to 'false'.  The default setting is 'true' and this will pull your sim back into your game when the mod does it's nightly clean up (usually 3am every sim night if you use default settings).  This happened to my sim when I was playing last night and I'm not sure if she will get the credit for performing in my friend's town or not.

Thanks for the tip, Kat! I haven't experimented with SimPort yet for this very reason. I wasn't sure if any mods would interfere.

According to my page on the TS3 site it looks like the tour counted - I'll check and see if I got credit for it in game when I play tonight.

I had the same issue.  However, I got the notification that my Sim had returned from the tour when he was scheduled to and his cell phone started acting goofy after that.  Any time he received a call, there would be two ring tones and two autonomous actions to answer it.  I reset him with Master Controller, but I don't know if this fixed the issue since he hasn't got a call since.

There was an old bug where the phone would end up getting duplicated, Twallan added a fix for it several versions ago, but something in the SimPort routine could have brought it back. It would only show one phone in the UI for the inventory, but if you went into the debugger for the sims inventory you could see/delete the bogus phones.

I can't use Simport at all if I have Overwatch installed. I haven't figured out why just yet. Turning off recover missing sims does nothing. I have a feeling it's because I have the game via Steam. I love this mod, too.
