Locating CC on my computer

Noob here.  This question is regarding sims3pack files and the fact that I might choose/need to delete one someday.

I know how it gets installed into the game:  First, I place the file into the Downloads folder.  Next, I start the game launcher, go to the Downloads tab, and press Install.

This is where my question comes into play. After I've installed the items, I go back to the Download tab, select all, and then delete (to clean out the clutter).  I am aware that when I delete the files out of the Download tab, it also deletes the files out of the Downloads folder  in My Docs.

So if it deletes them out of the Downloads folder, then where does it move them to?  They have to still be on my computer somewhere, because they're still installed in my game.  Correct?  If I want to get rid of one, I know how to uninstall... but if I really want to get rid of it, I also want to delete it off my hard drive.  So where on the hard drive do I find it?

No, once you delete the sim3pack it is gone forever. Everything you install via the launcher is stored in Documents\Electronics Arts\The Sims 3\DCCache\  in the .dbc files. To completely uninstall an item from your game, which you have installed via the launcher, you have to uninstall it via the launcher. This can be very difficult, if not impossible, for people who have a lot of items installed through the launcher, because the launcher only reads the first .dbc file in the DCCache folder. Think of the .sims3pack as a sort of wrapping paper for the actual .package file which is inside the .sims3pack. The launcher unwraps the sims3pack, then merges the .package file into the .dbc file (which is basically a large collection of merged of package files).
