No gigs since patch 1.29

OK, I hope someone can help me here. My Sim is in Appaloosa Plains and there are 2 band members in my band. Before patch 1.29, my Sim was able to get gigs but after patching the game to the latest patch, there are no gig opportunities!

Why is this so? Also I never register my Sim as a self employed and he was still able to get gigs. By the way, I created 4 band instruments for my town as Appaloosa Plains does not have the opportunity to play gigs unless one creates one.

Is anybody else facing the same problem? What should I do now? Should I restart my game?

OK, apparently I am not the only one facing this problem in this town after the patch 1.29 was installed. there are others as well in the official Sims 3 forum.

The question is, should this thread be moved into the late night forum even though the town belongs to the Pets expansion? I would like to get a few replies on this.

OK, this is the problem I am facing. When I continued my saved game, I did not get any gigs. But I was getting gigs before patching up my game to 1.29.

So, I tested this issue by starting a NEW game. This time, the gigs started appearing!

Why is this so? My bet is that the patch "broke" my current saved game. The mod does not do any good because even without the mod, I was getting gigs in my new game BUT not in my old game.

So in summary, I have to start a new game to get gigs. The patch messed things up. Now I am worried that if EA releases a new patch, the same problem would rise again.

I am trying to play a dynasty game whereby my Sim has ALL the skills maximized. In essence, I am trying to create a "perfect Sim". If this gaffe continues, I guess that I will be losing interest in this game.

Other uses have also reported the same problem since the latest patch was released. I just hate to start a new game and see my current "work" being wasted.

OK, I found a solution to this problem. When my Sim had 7 gigs, I moved in 2 other band members into my household. Then, I increased their celebrity status and also their musical instrument skills.

In no time, the gigs started coming in again. However, the gigs are not coming in through my original Sim BUT through the other 2 Sims.

I offer this advise so that other players can benefit from this. So far, I had 10 gigs in my band and the goal of course is to get 15 gigs.

I have two members in a band in Appaloosa Plains, one of them is a 4-star Celeb with maxed out guitar, the other has a lot of skills across all instruments and is at least a 3-star celeb, and I have yet to get a single call for a gig .  I only have one bar in town that has instruments set up in it though - do more venues = more gigs?

I think you have to request a gig from a proprietor at the performance park or one of the other venues.
