Building Contest 2012 - Long - February - Beyond Moderne
« on: February 23, 2012, 11:06:31 PM »
Name – Beyond Moderne
Cost – 97,335

I think back now to the day when the Broke family came through the doors into the offices of Nore Designs. The quiet ambiance of the office building was set chaotic by the seven of them. They were certainly one of our most unique clientele and I knew right off the bat, they were going to be a challenge.

Ruby – Guys, by quiet, everyone is looking at us.
Susie – I need to go to the bathroom.
Buck – I wonder if they have any free candy.
Flat – Who were we going to meet here again.
Ruby – I feel like it is that guy over there frantically waving at us so we get out of the lobby.

Naran – Hello! Do sit down. Geneve, can you grab a few extra seats from the meeting room.  Thanks. I take it you must be the Broke family. I believe we are discussing the layout of your new house. Sorry Nore could not be here himself to discuss the details with you vis-à-vis, he is currently talking to his teddy, but worry not, I intend to discuss everything with him later in detail. Tell me, where do you see yourselves living.

Susie – Disneyland!
Skip – The moon!
Ruby – Far, far away from the rest of them…
Flat – We are tired of being below everyone. Our house should tower over the rest. When our neighbors walk by, we should be able to look down on them!
Ruby – And it should be in the modern design.
Flo – But not too modern.
Buck – And it should be colorful.
Flo – But not too colorful.
Flat – Oh, and definitely unique.
Flo – But not so out of the ordinary that we stand out too much.
Flat – But we don’t need no square boxy structure neither.
Ruby – And well furnished.
Flo – But not too much furniture, we are all so claustrophobic.
Buck – And it should be grand!
Flo – But cozy.
Ruby – Oh and we definitely require an area where we can just dance, gonna be okay, da da do… Sorry what were we talking about.

Naran (frantically taking notes) – I see… Now how about your individual needs for your living quarters.

Buck – I require a stage on which I can shower the world with my magnificent humor!
Ruby, Trigger, Skip and Susie – You are not funny!
Flo – Make sure not to throw too many of them gadgets and what not in my room, I cannot stand all them fancy machineries.
Trigger – And none of them crazy drawings and statues for me!
Buck – And make sure there be lots of room outside, and a garden! With tomatoes… and onions … and lettuce … no wait, no lettuce! And apples…
Flo – Can I get some water.
Ruby – Make that a white nectar for me.
Buck – And a hamburger!

Naran – I don’t think we can do hamburgers… Geneve, can you get our guests some water and a bottle of white. Thanks.

After a few more hours of banter, I think there was finally enough to get started. Our team toiled and argued endlessly on the final design, but in the end, we feel you will be most enthused over the final house.

Right off the bat your guests and onlookers will be jealous of the grandeur of the entrance. Two sets of marble stairs take you to the first floor of the residence, which sits 20 feet above the ground so you can always be looking down towards the street. Here you can not only see the entrance, but also all three main units as well as the swimming area to the left.

The three main units of this residence were each given a unique color theme. A light, airy blue for Flo and Flat, a cheerful teal for Buck and a youthful and dramatic orange for Ruby.

The main doors lead to a small library with coat closet and a full kitchen. We filled the bookshelves with comedy literature just for Buck’s Good Sense of Humor.

From there you can get to the second floor where you can see the master suite for Flat and Flo as well as the adjoining bedroom for Skip. Notice the lack of machinery for Flo!

The next unit over is for Buck, Trigger and Susie. While dad is dozing off downstairs, the second floor is dedicated to just Trigger and Susie so they can get into as many fights as they feel. Notice also the lack of artwork or statues of any kind for Trigger (just his high school certificate on the wall)!

Across the bridge we come to Ruby’s unit. Her loft features a master bed, a small lounge area as well as a half kitchen.

Directly below Ruby’s unit is the family dance area, featuring a bar and outdoor grill. The dance floor is seamlessly meshed into nature so the entire Broke family can dance on a sea of flowers, much to Buck’s delight. Further down you can also see Buck’s garden as well as a small outdoor area for the kids. Many of you might notice the lovely ensemble our model is wearing. It is indeed from the Llama Vuitton Fall, Winter 2012 Collection!

Finally, at night the beautiful contrast of the house’s colors come to life so the Broke family can throw many evening events and gatherings for all their friends.

There you see it, Broke family. Our builders are going to do one final safety check and then the house is all yours, ready to move in.
