Double promotion
« on: February 18, 2012, 01:25:35 AM »
Has anyone ever been promoted TWO levels in the career? I maxed out performance, easily, in level one of science. I had 5 points in gardening, and 1 in handiness - more than enough for level 1 and 2, yet the promotion didn't come. So I mosied on over to my boss's house, buddied her up, and asked for a promotion. I looked at my career tab, and, low and behold, my sim is now level THREE in her career! There is absolutely no way I could be mistaken, as it was her first day of work.

Never 2 levels at once. And everytime my sim asks for a promotion, nothing happens.

No, I've never seen this in my game. Probably a bug, and I suspect it might be a good one for a change ;-)

Woah! Another double promotion!! This time I got it at work. I've been working on not missing any promotions starting first thing in the science career. I look down, and low and behold I am promoted to level 3 again - same conditions as the first time. It does make things a little difficult - getting all the skills to the right level by the next day - but thankfully I've got gardening sorted. So not a total coincidence. Anyone who knows the code have any ideas?

This happened to me too, except my sim is a self-employed painter! She sold a painting, then got a promotion, and as soon as the notification for the first promotion came, up popped a second for a second promotion! :o

With the painter career it's easy, beacuse if you lok at the amount need for promotion and sell higher, you can progress rapidly. My sim was level 5 when she joined the painter career and had the LTRs of "extra creative" . When her painteings sold she went from nothing to level 5 in the carreer.
However, normal careers, I've never gone from level 1 to 3 immediately as Chuckles has mentioned.

Oh, I see. Weird, the painting wasn't really worth much. She went from 2 to 4.

Well, at level 2, it doesn't take much lol.

Nope, this has never happened to me.  It's likely a bug, and I agree:  a good one for a change lol).
