I wonder if anyone could help me with this problem as it has turned out to be a real game breaker.

I'm playing an Immortal Dynasty file. Recently I had to do a System Restore on my computer because it was acting up like crazy. It said it wouldn't harm my documents, but didn't let me in to the fact it might corrupt my Sims 3 files.

Fortunately, I had everything backed up on an external harddrive, so I did a factory reset on Sims 3 and brought my old saves into my new game file (following instructions to do so from this very forum, and to the letter). I got this strange message:

"Cannot open game file. Game file contains expansion pack data that is no longer present on this system"

However, I had all the Expansions and Stuff packs installed and my game was fully up to date. What's going on? I tried again and again with no success and eventually went for a complete system reinstall. Still no luck and I'm getting the same message. The game simply won't read my files even though I have all my custom content from the Sims 3 website also installed. It won't even show the family picture.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to correct this? I'm seriously starting to get withdrawal symptoms for my Merryweathers. Are the files corrupted? I'm hopefully getting Windows 7 (at the moment I have Vista) very soon. Might it stop the game throwing a strop on me and take the files? I hope so!

Many thanks.
