Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

Congratulations Ausette, I loved you house the minute that I saw it. In fact I loved it so much that I decided that it would only be foolish to attempt building Egyptian style lol.

As always I would welcome feedback.

Kindest Regards
KJ

Thanks for the congrats, guys :)! Now, onto those comments:

Agneza: You did a fantastic job without your expansion packs. The colours were fun and I loved your patterns as always.

Zapkid: It's nice to see you playing with different styles! The garden and trellis are lovely. It seems a little empty though, would I be correct in saying you ran into budget problems?

Micler: I love all your builds, Micler. You're just so good with patterns! I think the dining room's my favourite part of your build, the colours and textures you've used are just exquisite.

KJSinclair:

Congratulations Ausette, [...] I loved it so much that I decided that it would only be foolish to attempt building Egyptian style lol.

Noooo, I didn't want to discourage anyone!  :o Although, if that means I'm the cause of your gorgeous French mansion, I guess I can live with that  :). I particularly loved the exterior and cozy loving room.

ratchie: You did something rather different with your build, and I like it! I think the master bedroom is my favourite part, but the exterior and landcaping (pond!) are pretty awesome too.

Thanks Ausette :)
Yeah I ran into budget problems. I bet it would have been piles better if I had an extra 50,000 to work with. I hated how un-homey it seemed... there was no personality, and it lacked lots of real life necessities. I did like how my garden turned out though :)

This was my first time voting in a building contest. I was anxious to vote in one, and once I had the chance, I found that it was surprisingly difficult. I narrowed it down to three in the end and was making decisions on the basis of really nitpicky things. So what I'm saying is, everyone did a really good job. :-)

Micler - La Maison a La Campagne I loved the simplicity of your build. The traditional french farmhouse style was very relaxing and pleasing to the eye and I would gladly use this as a vacation home.
ZapKid - Heather House I was so proud of you for taking a leap of faith and trying something completly different to your usual style. You have an excellent eye for colour and like you said you either needed a larger budget or to think of a way to cut costs.
Ausette - Pomelo House Stunning if I didn't know better I would have believed that you just uploaded a home already in the game. Although your build was so much superior to anything that EA could do. You captured the Egyption style to a tee a beautiful build.
Neashaleigh - Little China A lovely tranquild build with the essence of China. You are a very talented builder I especially loved the exterior of the house.
Agneza - Egyptian Vacation Home When my daughter saw your build she asked me why I couldn't build like that. I didn't have an answer for her. You seem to have a natural talent for co-ordinating colours and fabrics. If you were not such a lovely person I would be so jealous.
Catarra Nightshade - The Turquoise House  I loved the interior of the house a beautiful mix of textures and colours. The landscaping was inspired, very creative.
KJSinclair - The French Mini Mansion When I saw your build I was like wow I wish I had thought of that. The house you created was beyond good I have no idea how you achieved such a fantastic build on what was quite a low budget. Colour me one impressed lady.

As for my own build I was pretty impressed with what I did in my own humble opinion I believe it was one of my better builds. I would appreciate any comments on my build so I can improve and grow. Now that my three year old has recovered from chicken pox I can start work on my boarding school.

Thank you for all your positive comments, I feel that this was probably my most improved build thus far.

@ ratchie: it's silly really lol, I stayed in budget by concentrating on the curb appeal, all the window at the back are the very basic ones lol. I knew that the budget would come extremely close and I had to remove decorative items and settle for just one bedroom. Then I use the 'buydebug' lighting and if I have budget then I will add some accent lighting later. It is amazing just how much is saved by not have to buy lights.

Your building has improved, in this instance I feel that your colors were somehow 'off' it did not completely fit with the surroundings other than that it was entirely fabulous.

Kindest regards
KJ

Thanks everyone! And yes I completely agree I needed to be more price-wary. I think my failing point was with the lighting; $375 a piece and they were all over the house! Silly me :P
If I had a bigger budget I would have worked more on the rooms and perhaps added a piano parlor. I wish that I could have had enough to more past the pretty much bare essentials.

KJ I use buydebug for free lighting too it saves a lot of money. I still tend to buy lamps just for asthetic purposes if I feel the room needs them and the budget allows me.

Buydebug is great for getting free trees and plants too.
