Had you ever actively played "Fiona McIrish" during that game ?

Sadly, no. ARGH! I should have never played with story progression enabled!

Thanks a world for your help. At least now I know what happened to them. :(

Good call, I always rely on that being active in my towns (I switch households a lot), my bad.

There is a second check during the Reaper Death Rites that also tests to see whether the sim had a "significant relationship" with one of your active sims (Friendly, Romantic, Ex, Enemy), and retains the stone in that case.

:)

That sounds right.  The household had a lot of relationships around town, so that's probably why those Sims showed up.

I have a question relating to this so I'll post it here: I have a family of seven, and soon I would like to move in a partner of one of my sims and I'd like them to have a child but of course, I'll need to move some sims out to stick to the limit of eight sims. I'm going to move these sims out to nearby places so it'll be easy enough to stay in contact with the family. After reading the posts in this thread, my understanding is that even though I've played the moved out sims before when they were in my big household, there's a chance they'll move away? Just wanted to clarify.

If you have story progression turned on, they do have a chance to move away after you remove them from the active family. That is my experience on the matter.

Story progression will either move them out of town or kill some of them off. I've noticed that the game tries to keep a certain number of people in a given city. So, some move out, especially if babies are born, and some die. I have lately been experiencing a bunch of deaths in my city (due to people adopting animals?). So I wonder if the more animals and babies generated, will increase the move or death of sims?

Ugh, that's bad news. :( Oh well, I'll just have to hope for the best and hope they do not move out! Hey, if the Altos have stayed forever then surely my sims' own sister won't have to go, right? ;)

I've noticed that when my family has kids, someone dies or someone that I never heard of, has moved out of town. So, when I move my kids out, I can only hope for a chance to call them. That's real life, since I live 3000 miles from my kids.
