Is there a way to have less vampires?

I like Late Night very much, and I do not want to uninstall it, but I would like less of the sims in my towns to become vampires. It gets to the point where half or more of my sims' friends and acquaintances become vampires, and it is just too much.

Is there a way to make it so a smaller number of sims are vampires?

The only EA Standard method I know is to disable EA Story Progression entirely, which unfortunately turns off all other progression actions as well.

If there is any other means, I would love to know as well.
