Disk Authorization Failure
« on: February 14, 2012, 12:15:27 PM »
I'm not sure what is causing this to happen. It doesn't happen very often, but enough to want to fix it (if possible). I did a quick search on here about this but didn't find any threads on it!

I'm on a 2011 Macbook pro if that helps anyone. And it usually works after I reload the game after this particular crash.I bought all my games at EA except the original copy, I was living overseas at the time and they didn't ship to there. But I found a legitimate copy at a store it was just "sold in Thailand only" type thing.
Thanks in advance!

I have the same problem. :-\ It used to not happen very often, but now it's happening every time I open the game. I end up having to re-open it to the menu 2-3 times before it works and I can play. I have a macbook too, but it's older. It's probably something i'll just have to live with, but if I can, I'd like to fix it. :P

The message says to contact customer service, so that's what I think you should do.  If you find out anything, please post an update, if you don't mind.

Yeah I kind of wanted to avoid contacting EA because I have tried with other things and they are next to useless. But I'll contact them again soon and let you all know what happens!

I'm using MacBook and have the same problem too.

simlishlol, eject and insert the disc before restarting the game once you got this problem. It may help temporarily (for one time you restart the game) but not permanently.
Now I realize playing the Sims 3 on Mac is playing the game of installation and uninstallation...

Try cleaning your disk. Maybe there are some scratches on it that prevent the game from correctly reading it. There is also a slight possibility that the problem is with your disk drive. I've had multiple errors (CRC error for example) with a disk drive; I eventually had to replace it.

I'll try cleaning it, and I doubt it's my disk drive. I've only had this computer for a little over a year.

I usually use my disc cleaner every time I get it. (which happens to be pretty much every time :P) I wouldn't know about my disc drive, and I don't think I can clean it because it's a laptop… I've talked to customer service before (for a different problem) and they were no help then.
