Blue Beach Comber, starter house (?)

Is it really a house if it doesn't have 4 walls?  I don't know.  I just figured it would be cool to have a sort of house on the beach that was totally open to the off shore breezes yet in the full sun so it would be just the right temperature.  (totally forgetting it can get very cold at night!)  Fortunately, it does not rain, or have wicked storms in Union Cove,  , so that's where my little starter get away was placed.  Right on the beach with lots of room to grow into a for real house.  Costs less that $10,000 too and this time, no store items.  I went as vanilla as I could but you're probably safer figuring I used lots of EP/SPs.

You'll notice in some screenies the lounge chairs and table are gone.  That was to keep it under budget yet allow for a couple of skilling items.





This was the final version.  No chairs, no telescope, added chess set and kept the easel.

I love it! though only thing I would change is to have smaller railings around the deck, or glass railings.  If you had a view of the ocean you wouldn't want to block it up.  But I love the open concept of it, the really open concept.  You could picture yourself fishing or surfing or water skiing all day and then relaxing in the evening in this house!

I understand keeping it under budget so whoever gets this place needs to stick a stuffed swordfish over the bed.... then it be perfect!

You are SO RIGHT about the railing.  I only chose it because it was the cheapest one, (5$).  Otherwise I would have picked the one that is all glass so you don't lose any of the view.  I got the idea of the open house from playing one of the old challenges where you started with almost no money and had to travel and stuff.  For that challenge my first trip brought me a tent and by using the tent, free flooring, and the white, brick fencing, I was able to spend very little on my "house".  I only put up ONE wall and used the toilet stall for my toilet, threw my dirty dishes in the trash can, (no sink then), and showered at the gym.  I've considered making something similar in the "wilderness" areas of Union Cove, just for fun.
