Anyone else having problems installing today's patch?

I've had to restart the installation process 3 times due to error messages.  NEVER have had problems like this before.  Anyone else having issues or am I the only one?

No problems here. Everything clicked as usual — blue screen notification, then installation, then the game fired up fine from the installer.

Wow... I've restarted my computer 3 times.  And retried the install about 5 times.  Getting ready to try it again.

Do you have any custom content? I know EA warns about that when patching up.

No problems for me, either.  And I'm loving the fix for the family inventory issue!

I'm wondering if it's a windows issue... argh... planning to have hubs look at it tomorrow.

Figures they'd release a patch right after I decided to add my mods back on. I like getting rid of that stupid blur so that's the only mod I have...and of course skins.

Anyways, it seems like the minimize problem is fixed but I haven't done much thorough testing yet. Keeping my fingers crossed. At least the game starts and I can minimize again.

I haven't checked for one, so I went on the main website. Anyone else think it is horribly slow in loading or the login part takes ages for me! I am patching now through the launcher without knowing what it fixes!

EDIT: Managed to read the news page, the background and headings didn't load and stayed white, that site is pulling it self down, piece by piece. I blame the way overpriced store they have been spending too much time on!

EDIT: I got message saying somethings was missing from my PC and couldn't install, I tried again and its worked? randomness!

The website is always having issues, their forums seem as buggy as the game. I think when they cut jobs they got rid of all the experienced programmers and web developers.

Surprisingly I had no issues with getting the game patched. It went way smoother than I expected.
I've played some now too and haven't had any problems so far with this patch...other than one crash to desktop which has been an issue since the game came out. I'm hopping with joy now that I can minimize.

I had no problems in installing the patch, but, when I played my game, it freezes about every min or two now and lasts for about 30 seconds, and it does not quit.  I have had my game lag for a few seconds, but, I cannot even play this game now.  Will try another game and have done defrag and see if that helps.

I know it's a drastic suggestion, but sometimes a complete wipe followed by a reinstall is the only answer. I actually often do this as preventative maintenance when patches are released. It just depends if I have any active challenge and walkthrough characters. If I don't, then I'll take the time to wipe everything and start with a clean slate. I didn't do that with yesterday's patch because I'm presently working on a Guide article.

Well, I think this might be a direct x issue or something similar, because when I clicked on the option "online help options" it told me that I needed to update windows.  I just don't wanna tackle that without Hubs because he's the computer guy, I'm just the gamer. lol  I turn on the computer, and click The Sims 3 icon.  That's about the extent of my knowledge!

Fortunately, I went to another neighborhood and did not have any problem after that.  So I assume it was that particular spot, so I consider myself lucky, or I should say, the game is lucky, about ready to toss the disc, lol.  At least it was  simple solution, even though I lost the family, I can start over.

Ok, so Hubs just fixed it for me.

He says that the download got corrupted somehow.  He deleted it, and then downloaded the update from a mirror site and after that it worked just fine.  Thought I'd share just in case it might help someone else.
