I'm beginning to think that EA changed some other things with the latest patch/update/stuff pack than just add new items and fix known bugs. My sim family is currently in China. My family consists of a mom, dad, and three teen daughters. (triplets) Anyway, since I hadn't seen any teen boys over there for my girls to socialize with, I decided to make a Chinese family that had three teen boys and move them into town.
So my girls met the boys and I had one of the girls "serve" dinner to the guys and one of the boys got mad about it and said she was behaving inappropriately and if she didn't stop, she would have to leave. (weird) Then one of the other girls was in the backyard and totally hitting it off with one of the brothers. Their relationship went up and she went in for a first kiss, but he rejected the advance and she got the bad moodlet for "rejected first kiss." She apparently got very upset and ran away and jumped on her bike and was heading home. (I didn't make either of the sims do this.....this was completely autonomous) Then the boy who had rejected her, jumped on his bike and pedaled after her furiously and followed her all the way home. She ran into her house and he ran after her. She cried on his shoulder and he comforted her and then HE kissed her! Now they are going steady!
It usually seemed that the sims were little robots that WE control, so to see that boy actually get upset that the girl was upset and follow her home was strange and something I've never seen before. Especially since it was pretty late and he kept having the bed icon over his head because he was tired.....he still followed her all the way home. I think it's nice to see more "human" emotions and interactions.
