Another First In China
« on: March 21, 2010, 09:15:56 PM »
I'm beginning to think that EA changed some other things with the latest patch/update/stuff pack than just add new items and fix known bugs. My sim family is currently in China. My family consists of a mom, dad, and three teen daughters. (triplets) Anyway, since I hadn't seen any teen boys over there for my girls to socialize with, I decided to make a Chinese family that had three teen boys and move them into town.

So my girls met the boys and I had one of the girls "serve" dinner to the guys and one of the boys got mad about it and said she was behaving inappropriately and if she didn't stop, she would have to leave. (weird) Then one of the other girls was in the backyard and totally hitting it off with one of the brothers. Their relationship went up and she went in for a first kiss, but he rejected the advance and she got the bad moodlet for "rejected first kiss."  She apparently got very upset and ran away and jumped on her bike and was heading home. (I didn't make either of the sims do this.....this was completely autonomous) Then the boy who had rejected her, jumped on his bike and pedaled after her furiously and followed her all the way home. She ran into her house and he ran after her. She cried on his shoulder and he comforted her and then HE kissed her! Now they are going steady!

It usually seemed that the sims were little robots that WE control, so to see that boy actually get upset that the girl was upset and follow her home was strange and something I've never seen before. Especially since it was pretty late and he kept having the bed icon over his head because he was tired.....he still followed her all the way home. I think it's nice to see more "human" emotions and interactions.

I was bracing myself for another immaculate conception story! :) But, this one was actually kind of a good thing.

Going back to the serving dinner thing, I used to be able to do that but then when I tried to serve some waffles in the woman's husband's affair woman's house, she said I was behaving inappropriately! I as only trying to start a fire!

Great story Robin!  I just love those nice surprises the game gives you. ;D

"Acting inappropriately" has been in the game since the game was released.  Before I knew how to do this opportunity of "fix a group serving" meant to fix it in sim's kitchen, put it in inventory and take it to them, not go to their kitchen and serve them...that will bring up the acting inappropriately prompt.  Got my sim kicked out of the Lin household for that reason. :D

Well, think about it.  If someone came into your house and just started cooking in the kitchen for no reason, wouldn't you think it was inappropriate?  Heh.

This story made me smile. :) I think that is probably one of the more adorable things on the list of Sim's very cute moments. (Doesn't beat Peek-a-boo, but it's up there)

LOL...that's true...but I guess I figured the guys probably couldn't cook well, so she was doing them a great favor by making them dinner. And it was funny too, because only one of the guys got upset about it....the others were clapping and happy that she was cooking for them. Oh and none of them turned down the free meal!  :D :D

Yeah I thought it was a really neat moment, seeing those teen sims behaving so "human."  I was amazed when I saw the boy jump on his bike and race after the girl. I just let them do their thing and watched to see what would happen with my intervention. It was neat to see the boy behave so kindly toward the girl and try to make up for hurting her feelings.

Sometimes, I think it's fun just to let go of the mouse and let the sims do their thing while I sit back and watch. I bet if we did that more often, we'd see all kinds of things that our sims would do to surprise us.
