As mostly a lurker, I would like to thank you also, along with all the other posters. I've learned a lot from your guide and the people on this forum.  It's a rare day that I don't check the forum to see whats new. While the sims forum rarely do I go there. The people here are just more friendly and intelligent, more like a family.
so thanks for the guide, the forum (especially the story section), the new town (awesome) and keep up the good work.
People who know your site (even us lurkers) don't doubt your integrity! Posts like those (virus) are the reason I love this site, I don't have to worry about the bull.
Thanks again everyone!

I went on the official forum once. Once. I was spoken to very rudely, and haven't been on there since. That was when the game first came out, and I have no desire to go back on there, ever.

It's shocking really that it's still such a hostile environment. I can't believe how shoddily it's moderated, I mean it's like they don't even have any rules!

Well, three cheers for Carl, Pam and all the mods :) and all the members of course! Oh, just three cheers for us all as a big friendly Sims community!

I agree on ALL accounts! Thank you everyone who makes this forum work as it should (Especially Carl & Pam :) ). I love the atmosphere here, and the fact that everyone is so sweet. Even when I had been gone for several months and came back it was very easy for me to get back in the swing of things. I honestly was so surprised that I wasn't even forgotten by those who had known me from before! I really do enjoy it here, and I'm glad there's no "drama" or snarky comments. It's comforting to know that when you had a real gaming problem people are posting to actually help you out the best they can and not to misguide you in anyway.
This forum is what keeps me going in the Sims, without the extra information or challenges (Thanks Metro!) all those CDs would have a thick layer of dust on them.
Thanks again. :)

P.s. I've never posted anything on the official forums, but after I've read all this I probably never will!

Once again, I will say it again: If it wasn't for Carl and Pam, I would not be here playing Sims 3 today! If it wasn't for you guys, I would be so frustrated with my GPU throwing in the towel on Pets, as well as my game lagging from all the temp files. I'm happy I found this forum 11 months ago, and never looked back!

Thank you for the kind words, everyone.  It actually chokes me up a little to see how much the Forum is appreciated.

The official Sims 3 forum can be hostile, indeed.  I think the major difference there is number of people who go there, plus the fact that they had all those people from the very first day Sims 3 was released and the website was launched.  They have different priorities than we do and simply don't manage it the same way.  We started with two members...  Carl and me.  As it grew, we added more staff to help keep things under control.  Good people who believe in the Forum and how it's managed.  The more members we get, the more moderators we bring on.  It's working quite nicely for us.  :)

Thanks again for supporting us as we continue this wonderful journey!

That's what we love to hear, loveSims!  Someone who was afraid, but posted anyway and has ended up having a lot of fun.  Posting for the first time can be intimidating and I'm glad we have folks who can get past that initial fear and join in with the community.  :)

I must say, I do like it here too (just in case you hadn't noticed lol)
I just went and checked my account info on the official site. I joined in July 2009 and that was probably around the same time that I found Carl's site (before there was a forum) I know I found this site because I was looking for info on something. I probably didn't get an answer over there, but a few times I googled for info, when I went to the various sites, it was always here that had the most appropriate answer, so I bookmarked the site and just came here when in need of help. Then I guess I must have stopped playing for a month or two, or I didn't need help (more likely the first) and when I came back here (New Years day 2010) there was a forum so I figured I should join.. so glad I did.
I think part of the attraction (for want of a better word) here is everyone is so friendly and willing to help and share their knowledge. That's part of why I wanted to contribute to the site. In the early days when I was still finding my Sims3 feet (I'd had Sims feet for years) it was shared info here that kept me enjoying the game. If by sharing some of my knowledge, it helps to keep someone interested, then I'm happy.

I agree with all who has posted that this is the best site for the Sim3 . I had fist come to this site when Adventure World came out . I was having some problems finding certain things and read your guide and it was extremely helpful . I now check the forum daily , sometimes more than once so I don't miss anything . I only recently started reading stories and do enjoy it very much .
I always seem to find answers to all my questions . Except , I had a problem  when Late Night came out that I couldn't find any answers for and posted it . In no time at all a member answered and I know she went to a great amount of work to help me . Everything worked out and I really appreciated her helping me .
The only time I go to the official Sims3 website is to register a game ,updates , news for upcoming expansion or use the store .
I thank you Carl , Pam and all the moderators who help in making this the best Sims3 website on the net . I would also like to take this opportunity to thanks all who created Union Cove . It's now my favorite Sims3 world to play .  :)
Memories have no expiration date .

No matter what the problem is, I'm guaranteed to have one, two or even more informative and friendly replies to any question within a day. This forum is full of brilliant, lovely people who don't offend or laugh at you and do genuinely try to help. I came here looking for help with my game. I found just that, and a lot more - I found a lovely community full of fun and awesome people, run by a group of dedicated and hard-working moderators. Carl and Pam both deserve medals! Thank you so much, this is the best and loveliest forum community I have ever been a part of. :)

I might add that even though I joined the official site forum 5 months before joining here, I have all of 7 posts over there .. think that says it all.

I didn't see that post on the official forums. They got lucky deleting it before I saw it, here I watch my fingers when I type, over there I probably wouldn't have. People over there make me so mad. Carl and Pam's Forum is the best place in the universe. I celebrated my 2 year anniversary here last month, and I was so happy and proud. I couldn't tell you without looking when I joined over there. Thank you Carl, Pam and all the other moderators, members and friends I've made here.
