How often can a horse be put up for stud service?

I put my horse up for stud service for a little extra cash and was wondering how long you have to wait before you can do it again. I haven't counted the days but it's been several sim days now and it still says he needs to wait.

ok thanks, I guess that's why it seemed to be taking a long time to reset. It finally reset after waiting a couple more days.
