Windows shuts down the game
« on: January 09, 2012, 10:01:03 AM »
Hi,

Do you know why this happens? Windows occasionally brings up an error message stating that "Sims 3 has encountered an error and needs to shut down. We are sorry for the inconvenience. You can report this problem." This usually happens when the game tries to load files I think. Say, I will approach a new/not fully loaded house, and the game will get stuck, show me a black screen, then the error box.

I have all expansion packs and I had this error really rarely before. Now I am having it nearly every day. This started after I got patch 1.26 and the Pets EP.

Answering the questions from this thread...

-I have Windows XP Professional SP3.
-I am using some CC, yes. I don't have any mods.
-I have all expansion and stuff packs.
-As I said above I was either waiting for the game to load a new object or a new lot. This last time the error occurred, I was just moving the camera.
-My current version is 1.26 (the Pets patch) but I am currently in the process of downloading 1.29. You don't instantly download a 1GB file with dial-up connection.

Please help me because this is really irritating. I have no other problems with this game (not counting the usual lag) so this really is a first.
