PETS - Horse behaviour
« on: December 12, 2011, 07:17:56 AM »
HELP!

I finally worked up the courage to try horses.  Birds are my thing.  My Sim bought a nice mare... nothing too extreme.  My Sim read the books and is already level 10 Riding, so riding is not the issue.

My horse wants to urinate but doesn't go into the stall to do it.  When I clicked on bladder needs bar it shows a stall or a shrub as the solution??  My mare urinated on the grass and it stayed as a puddle which can't be mopped up!  AND she can't move because she urinated while at the feeding trough and she comes up with the path stuck thought bubble.  I had to go into build mode to lay some floor tiles under it for my Sim to mop up to get rid of it.  How do I get my horse to urinate in the stall?  Is it like potty training but I'm not clicking on the right item?

Also how do I get my horse to use the horse ball?  My mare give the path stuck thought bubble again.  I'm in Sunset Valley so the lots are small.  I bought the Shotgun house on Waterlily Drive which is a 30 x 40 and has a big enough yard for a horse and all it acoutrements.  Why is the path blocked?

My Sim is an Astronaut and only works Monday ... all day and night.  My horse seems very high maintenance.  Any tips on how to get through a whole day without her Sim constantly at her beck and call to pet her and feed her carrots?

To get the horse to urinate in stall, when you see the need is there tell it to go into the stall. When the horse is in the stall click on the horse and use pee here.

When the horse pees on the grass like you said it can't be mopped up but it does go away...like if did it in real life it would absorb into ground and the air dry it up naturally.

The horse balls require a lot of space, although you can't tell it when you place it.  They will toss the ball a long way.  So if you don't have enough room, they can't play with it.

You could also get another pet to play with the horse.  Even a dog or cat would keep the horse company and play with him.

Instead of waiting for your horse to beg for carrots, If you have level 1 cooking make the horse granola and place it on the ground outside. The horse will always go for the horse granola. And also everytime your horse begs you for carrots you can scold him using reinforcements and he will eventually stop.
It always seems impossible until its done.

Personally, I don't think it matters as long as he pee in the grass as the puddle automatically disappears. Sims need not mop it up since it's on grass.

Of cause you can also force your horse to go into the stall before he needs to pee or give him the Steel Bladder for Pets.
