Getting rid of excess pets
« on: November 01, 2011, 04:37:51 PM »
I tried looking up a way to get rid of one of my puppies. She isn't bad or anything, but I didn't realize that I had 6 Sims in my family (2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 people) so I could have a baby for my Sims. I noticed you cant sell pets like you could on previous pets games, probably because of the idea for in-game profitable mills for breeding and selling your animals. I don't know if you can put them up for adoption like on PC, and I also heard you could divide your families into different houses, or letting the social worker take them away (even though they would take all your animals).

The simplest thing I could think of, was using the Karma powers to do my bidding. So I ghostified the puppy (giving me a Karma debt, which luckily didn't backfire) and sent her to the Netherworld. I could have probably Transmogrified her into a Sim, but I still don't know if she would be a child or something I couldn't kick out of the house. Does anyone have any ideas, or tried this when getting rid of those accidental/excess animals they got during over breeding, or before they realized they had 6 pets/Sims already?

Hey there. I had a similar problem and to make things MUCH simpler as seeing as though there isn't a pound you can give them to, add someone on your list who has the Sims 3 pets and give them your pet as a gift. Honesty it's so much easier, you just use your Sim's cell phone and say gift pet (this will only appear if you have someone on your console's game list who has played sims 3 pets) and POOF the pet is bye bye. The person who recieves the new pet has the choice of adding it to the their household or not. SO even if they send it back you can deny it and the puppy or kitty will be deleted. Hope this helps and good luck!

This is on the console board, so the game might be different regarding the number of Sims allowed in the Console version.

The easiest way is, as you did. Use the ghostify karma. Then use your ghost zapper to collect it. I use it when I get tired of pets or human sims.
