Finally got Professor of Drinks (Mixology)

I'm new to the forum but I've been reading the guide for a long time.  I finally bothered trying to get the Professor of Drinks Mixology challenge and got stumped because I was three drinks short.  Then I noticed while playing a vampire there are different drinks at Plasma 501.  Long story short, made him a vampire, went there and got Red Water, Plasma Punch and Hemoglobin Shooter (the last one is at any bar I think) and completed the challenge.

I don't know if this is common knowledge but I tried googling it and didn't get very far (but google does hate me so I could be missing something obvious).  Hope this helps.

I've seen people supermax mixology in dynasties without becoming a vampire.  I wonder where they got the drinks you couldn't find.

Very true, I even got it before I had visited all the bars I had placed in Sunset Valley. But it is still useful information for other games.

I finally completed this challenge in Bridgeport and I got a message saying I can now make 3 new drinks.  However, I don't see these drinks on the menus to make drinks.  Do I have to create new drinks to find them, or what does this challenge reward mean?

Thanks for the information.  I don't know that you needed to turn your Sim into a vampire, though.  Normal Sims can visit a vampire lounge and probably learn the drinks there.

I'm sure human sims can go into the vamp bars, but I wonder if the vamp drinks will make humans sick like plasma fruit nectar does because I thought you had to drink the drinks to learn how to make them.  I suppose it's a small price to pay for super maxing mixology.

You don't have to drink them.  You can learn drinks if you're moonlighting, though it seems to be random.

And from what I remember, the drinks at the vampire bar don't make you sick.

Thanks for all the welcomes, sorry I haven't checked this in a while.  It seems this is still buggy and after not being able to figure it out I got frustrated and haven't played in a while. 

When I loaded my saved game after my triumphant victory I found the challenge wasn't completed anymore.  I had cured Igor of vamparism so I couldn't test getting the drinks again and just gave up.  I just recently tested a bit again and there are quite a few bugs.  Apparently you can forget and relearn drinks.  I had 39 drinks but no longer had the standard Plasma 501 drinks (ones anyone can order) that I had learned early in my mixology training.  When I learned a few drinks I got the challenge completed but still didn't get any reward drinks.  I have a big family and its Bridgeport so I've had to do a lot of sim resets and elevator cheats to get the town running again and I have no idea how corrupt the save is.

I can answer the questions about Vampire drinks though.  Only vampires can order them at the bar and there appear to be four (anyone jump in if I'm wrong here).  Hemoglobin Shooter is like Spline Reticulator, you can order it at any bar.  Plasma Punch, Sanguine Slush and Red Water are Plasma 501 exclusives.  I made some at home and had one of the humans drink it and there were no ill effects like plasma fruit nectar.  A non-vampire simply doesn't have the option to order it at the bar so I guess the only way to learn them is through moonlighting.  Since I'm learning the drinks to make Igor a good butler I have rarely had him tend bar outside of the house.

I'll keep poking at the challenge and the drink lists to see what I can figure out.
