From the official Prima guide:

Well Lana is on the Evil branch of the career, so I guess you won't get robbed only when you stay on the thief branch.

I guess so! Though that does seem a bit odd, why would the emperor of evil be robbed? Is the thief really stupid enough to do that? ;D

Maybe that's it. The emperor of evil isn't technically a thief since an emperor is the law! Thief to thief honour codes don't apply to everyone!

:o Was this something you did to a sim, or just something that happened elsewhere? Seems like something that a user would do to make a sim die that is otherwise very unlikely to happen (ahem, talking to some of these forum users  ::)  ;D)

It was taken from Mistakes Game, where a theif was found fenced into a pool after burgularing a local Evil Sims house, they are under questioning.
