Started Getting Bills Again (with the no bills ever reward)

This is strange. I have a couple and one of the first rewards that she bought was the no bills ever reward. All was fine for a while, but she aged up to an elder a little while ago and now they are getting bills again! Weird thing is that the bills just appear on the ground at the back of their lot without them getting them out of the mailbox.
I wasn't sure why it happened and so because he had heaps of points to spend, I had him buy the no bills reward (thought it might reset it somehow) but I'm still getting bills. I send one of them to the letterbox to pay all the bills and they go to the backyard and pick up one of about five letters on the ground (all of which are white - no yellow or red) and pay it, but the others remain on the ground. Anyone had anything like this happen.

The closest situation I've had for this is when the one with the No Bills reward dies or moves out.  A different Sim in the household purchased the reward and it was fine then.

This sounds eeriely like some sort of bug 'cause it should definitely not be like that according to any rules I've ever read.

Oh well it was on my nectar making challenge couple, so I probably won't play them much now anyway as they are both elders with no kids to continue. I did notice that the last time a paid a bill, all the bills on the ground disappeared and I haven't had any more come, so it may have corrected itself. Still it was strange.. I mean you would hope bills stop in older age, not start lol

Smart reward for that challenge, Norma. That's one of the first rewards I grabbed, so I wouldn't have to sell much nectar to pay any bills.

Same with me! Even though they only have about 3000 at a time it would be more likely 400 without the reward.

The no bills reward is worth it's weight in gold early on before money trees start producing lots of money

I don't think so. I'd have to load up that game file to check, but I'm sure there were no dead trees.
