Pools from Beginner to Advanced
« on: December 01, 2011, 05:52:45 AM »
The Build and Edit Section grows even larger.

Thomas Hickman, aka samoth04, has submitted me a three piece section on pools. First, learn the basics in intro to pools. He originally was going to make only the advanced offerings, but I asked him to tie it together with this piece and he does a great job. It makes these more advanced tutorials more accessible to the newbie builders out there.

Once you're ready, learn to make the url Infinity Pool. The most beautiful creation, requiring the most skill and patience is the Multi-Level Infinity Pool

Thomas' shots were great, but I had to shrink them significantly to help page load times. With such tutorials there are expected to be a lot of shots. I hope you can see everything OK.

Note to other builders: I am aware of some tutorials that you have created here, forum side, that could go well with this growing building section. If you would like yours to be featured, contact me and I'll get you info on how you can send everything over. If I don't hear from you, you may get a PM from me sometime this season!

You can show your support for our building upgrades on the official forums here

This is a great piece!  Any chance of adding curved pools to the rest?

Wow, Samoht did a great job! I'd do the multi-level infinity pool, but it looks so hard  :P

Hey guys I'm taking an extended hiatus... again. I'm out of ideas to build houses and I don't have as much fun designing homes like I used to; it feels more like a chore. So that's where I'll be, I will probably be back sometime. :P

But looks so good! These should kick up the quality of offerings in the building contests!

Now that is an amazing article ! I'd use that multi level infinity pool soon, it can make a tramandous fountain ! I would love to offer my curved pool tutorial, I will try to re-work it, to include more shapes and more details, and will e-mail it to carl :)

Carl, using the curved pool sections, Schiperke built a Christmas bell shaped pool and I buildt a Christmas tree shaped pool, and I think it was Schip who built a heart shaped pool.  The thing to remember with unusual shaped pools is that while they may look like they need lounge chairs around them, often your Sims will refuse to use them!  Why?  Because underground the pool is NOT curved at all but retains squared off shapes, so your Sim thinks you are asking it to walk on water or sit on water and it just won't do it.  However, these are good areas for placing other decorative objects like some of the towel racks/holders found in buy mode.  (store items)
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!
