Self-Employed Careers

Whenever I go to the City Hall in Appaloosa Plains, I can't select the option to become a Horseman, or any other self-employed career. I am level 1 in the riding skill, and I've tried getting my skill level up to level 8, but it still won't let me become a horseman. Am I doing something wrong?????

What exactly happens. Are you able to click on your phone and computer to select the self employment option?

The option doesn't show up at the city hall, on my phone, or on my computer. My friend had a similare problem and she said she just uninstalled and re-installed Ambitions and it worked. I'm trying to avoid uninstalling, as I've spent a lot of time on my sims. If anybody knows how to save sims through an unistallation, I'm all ears. I don't think it's possible though.......  ???

Take the folders named Saves and Saved Sims out of the Sims 3 folder.  Do the reinstall.  You shouldn't lose any store content because it was just one xpac not the whole game and then put the saves and saved sims back into the sims 3 folder.  Voila!
