Tomb raiding additions?

I'm new to the site, but I appreciate the guides.

I've been intensively tomb raiding in WA for the past week and I had a couple of thoughts that might be helpful:

Hygiene

Diving in dive wells has a positive effect on hygiene with my sim.  I'm not sure if it applies to everyone, or only those sims who have completed the dive-well challenge.  If you're careful about traps, you can raid without a massive stack of Showers-in-a-can.  I only carry one as a backup for "user error".  There are a few precious bathtubs (like the one in the Great Pyramid) which also help.

Social

This is the need that eventually catches up with me on multi-day crawls.  Thankfully, the cell coverage is great, even in the deepest of tombs.

Traits and LTRs for tomb raiding

Adventurous--The shortened travel timer is nice and the +10 moodlet will be up a lot
Brave--makes your sim immune to the fear moodlets from creepy crawlies and dive well dips.  I think this is essential for raiding.
Disciplined--considering the utility of martial arts in tomb raiding, I rate this higher than the athletic trait
Loner--One I wish I'd picked for my raider, given how much time the sim spends by itself

All of the lifetime rewards that slow down or freeze your needs are essential for extending trips into the larger tombs:

Steel Bladder
Dirt Defiant
Hardly Hungry--with this, I loot more food than my sim needs to eat.
Meditative Trance Sleep

Other LTRs:
Prepared traveler--most utilitarian for under-funded sims, but seems less helpful the higher your visa level reaches

Play hints for obsessive completists (like me):

Traps and Hidden Doors

I've never seen a trap having less than a 2x2 tile footprint.  Even wall traps affect an area of that size.  Watch the floor tiling for hints about trap locations, although not all traps are obviously placed. 

If a "Disarm a Trap" or "Find a Hidden Door" wish comes up when you are entering a room, you likely have at least one in the room.

Traps and doors cannot be placed in positions where objects interfere--hanging wall art, chests in the footprint, etc.

Periodically scroll out for a wide view to locate good spots for hidden rooms.  Depending on the design of a tomb, they may be very obvious.

Other things...

Always mourn tombstones, as it seems that at least a third of them will trigger something when you do.

Move every movable statue, as switches can be hidden beneath.

Don't overlook alternate entrances on the same lot as a tomb.

And a very spoilerish suggestion for the Hot Springs tomb in China--make sure you're rested before you go in.  I didn't find a spot to fit my tent in at all and the tomb is one-way.

Excellent post! 

I disagree with getting the Hardly Hungry reward though.  You get a nice moodlet for eating "good food", and it's very easy to simply carry a big stack of pemmican with you into the tomb.

Good point about the good meal multiplier.  My sim was very cash-poor (first generation of a Pinstar-style legacy), so carrying a stack of high-end stuff wasn't viable for a long time.  In fact, she had to scrounge apples from the park before she left on the first trip.

On the other hand, the number of wishes that pop up when you're actively raiding relating to relics, ancient coins, traps, and doors made worrying about maintaining maximal mood less of a concern for me.  My sim is a couple of days into adulthood from a young adult start and bearing two children and she has somewhere around a quarter-million lifetime happiness points (without yet completing her LTW) due to the non-aging on vacation and the fact that she's raiding 80% of the duration.

You buy pemmican with Ancient Coins, and they only cost 10 AC apiece so after one dungeon you can usually afford to buy at least a few.  For my adventure sim they're the only dried food that's eaten, the found stuff in the tomb (especially the low and medium quality) just gets sold.
