Shortening Lifespans..
« on: November 15, 2011, 06:13:30 AM »
Well, after realising that continuing my legacy the way I am now will lead to it ending in about five years, I decided to shorten the legacy lifespan. Currently, it's on 'long' but I want it to be at around 'normal' so it will go quicker. The question I have is: If I shorten a lifespan, will skilling be quicker; Will a sim of mine max a skill quicker on the normal lifespan than on the long? If not, then I suppose it will be much harder to get each heir to supermax two skills, but I'm using cheats anyways. ;) Thank you to anyone who answers!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the lifespan has any impact on how long it takes to max a skill. The time taken to max a skill is based on the effort put into it by the sim. A longer life just means they have longer to actually do it.

Oh, it will be harder then. :( Ah well, thank you! I still think it's better than staying with the same family for five years! :D

You can set the lifespan for just the babies, toddlers and elders shorter. That's what I do. My babies is on one day.

My babies are that long as well. :P My problem is that my YA, adults and Elders are all 50 days long! xD I plan on halving the YA and maybe only making the adult 30? Then the elder 20 and the children 10 and the teens 15. My toddlers have always been 6 (two days for talking, walking and potty-training).. Do these sound like reasonable figures?
