Sims 3 PS3 Questions
« on: November 13, 2011, 02:35:02 PM »
Hello. I've been playing The Sims 3 for PS3 for a few months now. I have a few questions that I've been searching for the answers to for a while.

1. For some reason, Gardening isn't working for me. My Sims have learned the skill through books, and have appropriate level seeds in their inventory. However, when I select the seeds, there is no 'Plant' option. Does any one have any ideas of why this is happening or any solutions?
2. Is it possible to have more than one created family in the same Save Game/Town?
3. Is it possible to create a house before making a family?
4. Is The Sims 3 Pets for PS3 a separate game or an extension added to The Sims 3?

Thank you so much if you could please help. ;)

Hi, December.

I've been playing it for awhile now, myself. Here's what I can help with:

  • 1. I don't remember off the top of my head, but I'll look up Gardening. It's different from the PC version.
  • 2. No, you can only have one playable Sim family per game save. Moving out a Sim from the current household will delete that Sim.
  • 3. No, there is no Edit Town mode. I miss this option... :(
  • 4. The Sims 3 Pets for PS3 is a standalone game. You cannot (that I'm aware of) share items or Sims between the two games. This also means DLC from The Sims 3 does not work with The Sims 3 Pets for consoles (I assume the XBox 360 DLC is also not able to be shared).

The game is still a lot of fun. A few things have been added to The Sims 3 Pets like the mysteries around town. The Karma Powers have been tweaked and you can create puppies and kittens. However, the console versions have no horses or unicorns.

Edit: To Garden, you have to go in to Build/Buy mode (use the Select button) and place the seed or produce on the lawn. Then go back to Live Mode and click on the seed and select Plant from the menu.

To garden on the Sims you need to go in the Buy/Build mode and place the seed on in the yard then click on it while in Live mode to plant it.  :)
