I love the fact that I could play several different games at one time in the same town but different situations with the same people in that very town. Insane Sims by far are my absolute favorite Sims to play with
ever! I get a kick out of them. I think my CAS possibilities got even more endless with Sims 3.
I love being able to create endless humorous situations and telling stories about them in this forum. I love experimenting with different variety of households, and am able to chose how I want the game to be in terms of aging and how they will end up in the end. Like if I decide I want to play with families, that have nothing to do with Metro's challenges, I can adjust the settings to how long I want my kids to be kids, how long I want my teens to be teens etc. If I want to play Single Sims, and want them to stay young and single, I can turn the aging and story progression off. No situation is ever the same for me, no matter what style I want to play.
My number one thing with Sims: Pets, pets and pets! Creating, adopting and owning pets. Once Sims releases an expansion pack for Pets, no other EP or SP matters to me anymore, regardless of what Sims game it is (1, 2, 3). Of course, I love the expansion packs! They add so much to the game I wasn't able to do alone with the basegame. Being a real life pet owner and lover (particularly cats), Pets is the biggest requirement for Sims in my book. Every Sims game it was always I had to have Pets, and whatever expansion pack relates to new CAS features and hobbies: Last time around, it was Free Time, this time around, it's Generations. Already what do I want in Sims 4? Pets!
