Horse Aging Glitch?

I had my sim adopt a foal from the shelter, when it arrived it was an adult. I wanted an adult anyways so I didn't mind. Then that evening, with 35 DAYS to elder it has it's birthday and becomes an elder.... >:( what the heck? Has anyone else seen this?

Sorry but no I adopted an elder horse and it was elder when it arrived. It was 47 days old and is not 52 days old! Which doesn't appear to affect it in any way!
