Fertilizer from stalls and the blasted maid

I've seen comments in TheSims forums saying you get to keep the fertilizer but the section on LTWs here says no.  Has anyone tested it?  I haven't had a horse get even half enough LTW points yet to buy it, they go up so slow.

My issue is the dang maid beating me to the stalls so I don't get the fertilizer and so I'm looking for another way to beat her/him to it.  Any advice on this would help too.  Between work, school, eating, sleeping, and etc I just can't always get a sim to the stalls before the maid arrives.

I would put the stall in a barn or some other building where you can lock the door and the maid can't get to it.  That would be my only suggestion.  I don't understand what you mean about keeping the fertilizer.   When I clean out the stalls, if there was " a present", it was in my sims inventory and that was that.  And I always forget to buy LTRs for horses.  I know if you get the one stall from LTR that you'll never get fertilizer because it never needs to be cleaned.  So if you want fertilizer, you shouldn't buy that stall.



Remember LTR = Lifetime Happiness Reward; LTW = Lifetime Wish.

TheSims main forum says if you buy that LTW stall you still get the fertilizer so I guess that was bad information.  I don't think I'll ever have that many points for the horses anyway.  Their needs go down so fast I can't keep them up high enough to gain points and all the wants only get a couple hundred points so it takes forever to gain points to spend for them.

I used to have an enclosed barn, but it just takes up too much space once you have more than 2 stalls.  I tried several layouts but everything I tried gave me a ton of pathing issues until I saw the pics of a barn with stalls facing out here in the forums, that finally allowed me to place more than 2 stalls for my horses in the space I have.  I still don't know how she put so much training equipment on her lot, she must have 100x100 lot or something she's on because I can't get near that much set up on my lot.  I can't find it in the shared lots section to take a closer look at how she did it.

The self cleaning stall (LTR) still "produces" fertilizer. When your horse pees in it, his "present" is automatically packed in some boxes in the corner of the stall. Sims just have to take the fertilizer in the box, and don't have to clean the stall itself, hence the self cleaning ability.

Thanks Bella, so it sounds like I can still get fertilizer contrary to what was said earlier and what the guide here says.  I'll have to try and get a horse some LTW points and try it out.
