Ok well I just added small animal spawners to all the parks in my BB. Unfortunately there are no wild horses or stray dogs/cats spawners (that I found), so I guess I'll just have to settle for those being a bit disappointing.

Has anyone succeeded in taming a wild horse, and knows how much riding skill a sim needs? My sim has a good relationship with a wild horse, but it still will only let him watch it, and won't be tamed without some kind of riding skill.

I think I read that you need to be at level 8 of riding to adopt a wild horse.
I've just started a new game around just horses, so I'm learning.. slowly.

Pallyndrome, if you don't recycle your newspapers, you should get a stray dog or two show up.

thanks marian - I put those gnomes up to attract animals, but I only got 1 stray dog on the first night and none since. I'll try the newspapers idea.

twinmum, man that's annoying needing 8 riding skill - did they have to make it so hard? Oh well, I guess there was going to be something bad about the pets pack, and this is it for me...

Not sure how hard it will be to get to level 8. My sim has just adopted a foal from the refuge, so she can't ride it yet. I may have her go and a adopt an older horse too so she can at least practice riding.

It's not hard at all Pally.  Just get the skill books and voila!  You're up to level in no time.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

Well it took my sim 7 days to reach level 8 in riding skill. But the horse keeps refusing to be added to the household. He's my sim's BFF, and they have a full relationship bar, but add to household never works - I've tried it many many times. The only thing I can think of as a reason why it's not working is that the wild horse has the ornery trait. I may have to try again with the other wild horse, hoping that one's not ornery. :(

Pally, I don't know whether the newspaper will work in Barnacle Bay. I have a story there, and haven't seen any strays in 4 or 5 Sim days. Wild horses, yes, but despite overwhelming temptation, no dogs or cats.
