No, they're just "hidden", hence why I think it's a bug-cheat.

They aren't hidden, there is a scroll bar after 5 like when you get more lifetime rewards than fits in the box.

@Naga and anyone else who thinks it's a cheat -

I seriously didn't use the praise or scold options on this cat.  All I did was play him as I wanted to play him while I was getting to learn the new system. None of the traits were trained on the same day and he had just gotten his seventh one the day of the photo below. I didn't buy a Mid-Life Crisis for Pets and I did not Edit in CAS.  I tend to play the game without cheats other than MOO.  So this is either a glitch or a bug or intended but it's not a cheat.

I started with three traits, moved him into a household and then found out that there is a way to get more than 5 traits for pets.

How particulairly odd is it that no scroll bar was shown in my game yet my pet had 7 traits? This is the reason I thought this was a bug-cheat of some sort. My apologies for being mistaken.

Also, praising and scolding only make your pet learn/forget a trait faster, and aren't needed in order for it to happen.
