Construction help - Foundation

Ok, so I didn't really know how to use the Sims, so I just started playing. I started building my house, but now that my house is almost done, I want it to have the floor base so I can have some stairs in front of the house. Is there a way I can do that after I build my house? Can I drag it somewhere while I put the base floor then the house on top of it??

The floor base you're talking about is the foundation.  Unfortunately, it has to be done first thing when you start building your house and there's no way to add it later.
