Stereo Won't Play

I only started playing recently so I installed with all the patches.

I have the stereo on all the time for the mood boost and a few times it has stopped playing (for me, not the sims).
I turn it off and turn it on again and that always works. Just like some other electronic gadgets in real life...

I haven't been having much trouble with the stereo recently, but I've only been playing new families.  The trouble I had was with a family that was many generations old and had never moved from the original lot.

Pam, do you remember after how many generations this problem occurred?

No, not exactly.  But I'm pretty sure it had stopped playing at least by the 5th generation.

I was playing my Asylum game this weekend and when I was in the buy mode all of a sudden I realized I had no music playing.  This household does not have a radio, but does have a TV.  When I went back to live mode the TV was on, so I turned it off and went back to buy mode and now the music was playing.  I never noticed in my 1st game created before any of the patches if the TV ever caused that issue as most of the time they would have the radio on.  The Asylum household was created after I had all the patches installed.  So if I have any audio object on in a game I'm playing then I don't have sound in build/buy mode.

I've been able to get the stereo in my Legacy family to play!  I turned it off, then turned it back on, then switched to my Custom Music.  It doesn't play on the regular stations, just Custom Music.  That's fine with me because that's what I want to listen to anyway.
