Telling another sim they're being cheated on

This is the first time I experienced the ability to tell another sim their spouse is cheating.

I started a new game and day1, my sim is playing guitar in front of the theater. About ten sims show up and after she's played for awhile, she decides to ask Rennee Littler for her autograph. After impressing Rennee, they talk until friends and when I go to "Friendly" for more chatting, I see "Tell Rennee that Rueben has another relationship". So, my sim did and Rennee cried and their friendship increased to Good Friend.

Has anyone been able to tell another sim about cheating?

Neither have I. I wonder if you can only do it after you've seen their partner cheating? Also, I'm kind of surprised that option would come up at a low relationship. I figure if you tell someone their boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating on them, they'll yell at you if your relationship is low and thank you if it's really high. Like, you won't believe a stranger if they tell you your significant other is cheating on you, but you're more likely to believe your best friend.

This is really interesting! I've had my sim cheat before and then see the option to "Express condolences" or something, but I've never seen that happen. I'll have to experiment with it now!
