It does help the modern look. It also adds visual interest to the exterior by giving the eye something to catch on. That's especially important when you have an exterior that's just a flat color so the eye doesn't parse it as just a monochrome cube and move on.

I think you really nailed this, and I can't wait to see the other ones in the series. : ]

What an awesome build, Zapkid!  You really have a feel for modern architecture and decor.  I love the asymmetrical exterior and the muted interior.  This is a must-download for me!
