Moodlet Strength
« on: September 12, 2011, 11:52:35 PM »
Okay, I have a couple questions about moodlets.

Do they get a better moodlet when they donate more money to charity?
Do they get a better "new stuff" moodlet when the new stuff is of higher value?
And how long does the "new car smell" moodlet last (in days from when you first by the car) and do sims only get it while they are in the car?

Thanks.

I'm not sure the value of the stuff gives a better moodlet, but the snob trait does. The snob trait gives +30 instead of +20.

As for charities, that's a yes. Bigger donations = better moodlet. It can be as high as +50.

The new car smell lasts for 2 hours everytime they take a ride in their new car, so it is still there for a short period of time, when they get out of the car. Not sure if it stops working, when the car has been used and decreases in value, never paid attention to that one.
The new car smell doesn't work with the cheaper cars as Sloppy Jalopy and  Big Lemon.

The new car moodlet seems to last awhile, at least for many sim weeks.

I also just realized recently that you get +10 moodlet from burning incense. So now I have incense burning in all rooms. The China incense gives a moodlet of "brain synergy", so I keep it in the areas where they do their work (writing and logic). The Egyptian incense gives a moodlet of "totally calm" or something of that nature. I keep that in the bedrooms and the hot tub area.

And if two sims both have the great kisser trait, will the moodlet be higher for them?

Can't help you on the "Great Kisser" thing. However, my sim's hisband is a reat kisser and when they "make-out", he gives short kisses. But, when I have her "make-out" with him, it seems to last for ever. So, I think the great kisser is a waste of time, she has "Master of Seduction", which works better! This is  a man with "committment issues"; but all his wishes are to "wohoo with XX"; or even more strange "Have a baby with XXX".

You can also get the New Car Smell moodlet from the Floor Hygienator. If you have a level 10 Scientist, sometimes whatever has been experimented with will give the New Car Smell.

The incense burners stack, too. So if you have all three burning in one room, you get a nice mood boost.

I haven't seen a difference with Hopeless romantic's moodlet compared to their spouse. But, I have seen Comttment Issue sims that stop fretting over their committment and stop flirting when they get the "Faithful" or "Eternally Faithful" moodlet.

I don't think so, although where Family-Oriented Sims would have a logo by 'Get Married', Commitment Issues Sims have a cross thing through it.

Okay. Do family oriented sims get a better moodlet when they have a baby?
And do sims get a better moodlet if they have twins rather than just one kid?

I don't know for the first one.
And for the second, they definitely get an 'It's Twins!' moodlet, like if it was a boy or girl, but I don't know about the size of the moodlet. Sorry.

No there is no negative moodlet. They get the same moodlets as others who are just married. What does change is their wishes. I've had wishes to break-up, while they still have the moodlet for "sims in love swoon when near their lover".
