Strange music, followed by a Crash To Desktop
« on: September 12, 2011, 03:01:40 AM »
I'm sorry if I don't explain this well. There was a freeze during this, so I'm not entirely certain WHAT happened.

I was starting a Dynasty in SV - my sim had just left work, when the following music played:
"DUN dun dun dun" (or something to that effect).
Then the game froze. After a few moments, the following music played:
"dun dun dun DUN" (again, or something to that effect).
Immediately after, the game Crashed to Desktop.
I can say with great certainty she had been doing nothing strange - befriending Holly Alto and Agnes, sleeping, eating, working and practising Charisma.
I have absolutely no mods. The only CC-like things I have in my game are things from the Swap Shop, the Store, and a custom world from My Sims Realty (Cascade Shores).

Is there anything, anything I can do to prevent this in future (my sim had amounted to nothing thus far, and it was only Week 1, Day 4, or something)? And what actually happened!?

I edited your subject line.  Not everyone knows what CTD means.

Did you lose that game when it crashed?  Or are you able to open it up and keep playing?

Sorry Pam. I'm used to saying CTD instead of Crash to Desktop.

Did you lose that game when it crashed?  Or are you able to open it up and keep playing?

I haven't opened the game yet, so I don't know. I didn't save, so I guess not.

Well, it's hard to say what it might be.  If you're lucky, it was just a one time glitch and it won't happen again.
