Keeping What is in the Inventory While Switching Towns?
« on: September 15, 2011, 02:16:29 PM »
Hi all!

I have a query which I suspect may be a common one. I have had a quick scan using the search function but couldn't find anything so sorry if this is a repeat of any other thread..

I would like to, sometime in the future, move my current family to a new town. Of course, I plan on doing this by saving my family to the library while in edit town and then starting a new game in the town I'd like to move to and then choosing them from the library to play on a new lot in the new town..
What I wanted to know is, will the sims keep what is in their inventory if I save them to the bin? And, even better, as they are a household I am saving, will their family inventory be in tact, also? I ask this because I want to keep the family's many sculptures and paintings to decorate the new house with.
If this isn't possible, then would I be able to put my sculptures and paintings down around my family's current home, then save the family and the home together and place the home (containing those much-needed sculptures and paintings) and household together in the new town?
I would much rather be able to save just the family with the sculptures and paintings as I am currently having a strange problem with edit town where the home and household never seem to want to save together and come separately, but I could always try a good few times and get it to work if it is the only option.

Does anyone know how to keep the items together with the family? Thank you for reading and helping in advance. :)

Last time I moved Sims from one town to another was a couple of months ago.  Everything in the family inventory came along with them.  I don't remember if they had any items in their personal inventory or not.

Or I would think your idea of saving the family and home together would work also.

Ahh, okay. Thank you, Schip. In that case, I'll just move the household. Thanks, again. :)
