Is there a way to display the bugs and butterflies your sim collects?

If you drag them out of your sim's inventory they will appear in glass box looking things.

You can't put them on the smaller version fo XL display table (the black and red one) but they fit into the others.

They can go on coffee tables, end tables, dressers, and on the floor, too.  I've stacked mine at least 4 high on the floor.

According to the guide, it's possible to stach them around 6-high. (EDIT: sorry about the size. Use the scroll bar beneath my post - the stack is on the righthand side.)

What are those little cases next to the tables in the pic?

Those are the insects/butterflies.  When you pull them out of your Sim's inventory, they automatically are in that case with the branch and grass in it.

I've never gotten insects to stack higher than three. Ingots stack quite nicely, of course.

I think you can stack five insect displays: make one stack with two displays and one with three. Then put the three on top of the two.

Well, since Pets, my bugs and butterflies will not go into a glass display case.  I have tried and tried and they will not do it anymore.  When I remove them from the inventory, they just go on the ground.

I think has something to do with the fact that animals can capture beetles and then put them on the ground in front of their owners as a gift.

Ricalyn is right.If you drag them from Pets inventory they are just a bug on the floor, but if you drag that bug back to your Sim inventory, then you can get the glass.

In live mode I was able to stack 16 of them, but in build mode it said that "celling is too low" if I try to move them. No cheats involved:
