Help! Trying to build a house for a challenge and failing somehow!

I play Sims 3 on my Xbox 360 so I don't know how this would be different but one challenge is to build a home worth a certain amount of money, I think it was 350k.  I built a home that must be worth that, its 3 stories with lots of stuff but I didn't get the challenge.  What am I doing wrong?  I had to delete the house that was on it wall by wall and rebuild my new house cause I haven't found a bulldoze location icon anywhere like in previous games.  I only built the house though, the pool was already there.  Does anyone play on console and know how to complete this challenge?  Thank you!

First of all, remember that items depreciate by at least 15% after you exit build/buy mode and enter live mode. Second of all, just fill it up with the most expensive TV, kitchen appliances, stuff like that.
Also, do you have cheats on? I think if you do then it disables achievements for your current game.

Sorry Pam, done.  No cheats aren't on and I did use expensive stuff.  Every item I used unless themed was the most expensive available.  I have five bedrooms, five baths, two large room-like hallways, a study, a kitchen, and a living room.  Oh!  And a garage with the most expensive car.  What am I doing wrong?

Try Adding more rooms such as sunroom, or man cave, a pool area with hot tub, those usally cost a lot, also try adding a playground

If I add more rooms will my fire meter extend?  Its already in the danger zone.
