Child in a different household!?!?

Well, it started off when I successfull stole an NPC sim's girlfriend and asked her to move in with me. At the time, I was not aware that she had had a child. She moved in and there was no option for the child to move in with her. After she moved in, I realized that she did have a child and have been trying since to get the baby back since then. Ive even gone as far as trying to swipe the baby, which, of course, failed... I have tried marrying also. Is there anyway I can get the baby back without breaking up my sims? P.S. Im on console version.

Welcome to the forum, sylviaboy.  I play on the computer, not the console, so there may be some differences.  But if I had this problem, what I would do is befriend the child's guardian (is it the father?) and ask that person to move in with me.  When you invite someone to move in, you should get the option to choose which household members you want to move in, so you can move in the child and the father.  Then just turn around and kick out the father and keep the child.

Wait till the baby is older, and ask him to move in too. I'm pretty sure it will work. All you have to do it get to know him/her and then there will be a icon asking him/her to move in. Most of the time they never refuse.
